Today is the first day of our “Picture Wisconsin’s Future” Capitol Display in Madison. WECA will be sponsoring a display of photographs in the Capitol Rotunda from April 10-16 in an effort to bring awareness to the important role child care providers play in forming Wisconsin’s Future. We will enlarge several photos and create graphics to help legislators and community members see our future teachers/doctors/painters. Early education professionals will also be highlighted in the pictures. Legislators will learn about these professionals and their stories: how many children do they care for? how long have they been in the field? Visit our website for more information, or contact WECA by calling (1-800-783-9322, ext. 7239) or emailing Amy Schuster.
The display will also use statistics and personal stories to illustrate the important role that the R.E.W.A.R.D.™ WISCONSIN stipend and T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood® WISCONSIN scholarship programs have in creating a highly educated and fairly compensated early education workforce.
I think it’s great that the important work of early childhood professionals is being highlighted in the Capitol. Caring for and educating our youngest children is one of the most important, yet one of the most undervalued professions. I hope you will come to see the display in the Capitol, if you live in the Madison area.
These are beautiful posters that everyone should go and experience in the Capitol. It really reminded me that our little children are so important to our future, and that their teachers make all the difference.
